Marco Mingarelli

Drummer + Percussionist + Educator

Marco Mingarelli, born in 1980 in Lugo, is an italian drummer and percussionist based in Berlin.

He studied Classical Percussion with Daniele Sabatani at the Conservatory “B. Maderna” in Cesena and Jazz Drums with Stefano Paolini at the Conservatory “A. Buzzola” in Adria.

As a percussionist he performed/plays with various orchestras such as Orchestra Filarmonica Città di Roma, Orchestra Maderna, Sibelius Orchester, Sinfonie Orchester Schöneberg, Junge Sinfonie Berlin, Brandon Hill Chamber Orchestra, BAAM Orchestra and others.

As a drummer he played with several international artists such as Will Henderson, The Love Gloves, Daniel Ondaro, Eyal Lovett, Massimo Vinco e la Banda fuori Tempo and collaborated in interdisciplinary art projects such as literature performances with Fiston Mwanza Mujila.

He is currently touring as marimba player with the Balkan Beats Band Mr Zarko and the folk singer JZ James and teaches in the state music school„Schostakowitsch Musikschule Berlin-Lichtenberg“.
